North Kazakhstan regional court gave training workshops for regional judges with participation of professional mediators

Giving of weekly training workshops for judges of district and equivalent courts is aimed at training their skills in mediation settlement of disputes.

At the first introductory session, the coaches were the chairman of the “Sodrugestvo” North-Kazakhstan Center for Mediation and Law public association Galina Pekhotina, the head of the mediation office of the North Kazakhstan Regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Gulbakhsha Mussabayeva and the director of the representative office of the Center for Development of Mediation RPA Aliya Ramazanova.

The chairman of the judicial board for civil cases of the regional court Aidar Smagulov opening the event noted that it is very important for judges to master the mediator skills, as mediation is an effective tool for dispute and conflict settlement. “Within the project "7 stones of justice" the republic courts are facing the task of improving the quality of the administration of justice, the application of this method of settlement of disputes will significantly reduce the load on judges, save time, money, and maintain the relationship between the parties of the conflict,” he stressed.

G. Pekhotina gave examples of problem situations that may arise in the process of conflict settlement using mediation and talked about ways to settle them. She stressed that mediators need to help the parties find a common solution to the problem that would satisfy the interests of each of the parties.

G. Mussabayeva had an interactive conversation with the judges. The participants of the workshop were involved in an active discussion of the issues on the activity of mediators about the goals and tasks of their work. The speaker also shared her personal experience and revealed several professional secrets of the mediator's work.

Summing up the results of the event, A. Ramazanova asked the participants of the training to formulate a number of questions, the answers to which will be compulsorily prepared and discussed at the forthcoming trainings.
