The Atyrau Regional Court held a seminar for newly appointed judges on the culture of litigation, the methodology of giving a court decision, combating corruption and respecting judicial ethics.

Judges of the regional court Maten Yergaziyev, Gulnar Karabalina and Gulnar Nurzhigitova, the chairman of the mentoring council Bagila Nurzhanova took part in the event as experts.

Speaking, M. Ergaziev focused the attention of young judges on strict compliance with the requirements of judicial ethics. "Judges must confront any manifestations of corruption and attempts to interfere in the administration of justice illegally," he said. Also, the judge of the regional court informed about the work of the Council for Combating Corruption.

Speaking about the quality of the drafting of judicial acts, Judges G. Karabalina and B. Nurzhanov in their speeches pointed the technical mistakes often made by young judges. Special attention is paid to the observance of legal terminology and the study of relevant methodological recommendations.

The newly appointed judges demonstrated a demonstrative process in civil matters, focused on observing the culture of conducting court hearings, acquiring practical skills, and also solving non-standard situations arising during the process at the seminar.

Upon completion, G. Nurgizhitova once again drew the attention of the seminar participants to strict observance of judicial ethics and civil procedural legislation as well as the order of the court session.

The Kostanai regional court held a training seminar on the topic: "Improvement of the court decisions quality". The judges of regional, district and equal courts of the region and judges-trainees took part in the event.

Stressing the urgency of the seminar, the judge of the regional court Gauhar Seydakhmetova described one of the indicators of the efficiency of the judicial system as the sequence of decisions made and the unity of judicial practice.

The topic of the seminar covered judicial practice in criminal, civil and administrative cases. Detailed reports on each specialization were made by the judges, they gave generalized data and examples on specific judicial acts. Speakers noted the facts of non-compliance with the requirements of the procedural law to the content of the introductory, resolute parts of sentences and resolutions. Also noted is the observance of rules of stylistics and punctuation in court judgments, inadmissibility of vernacular, slang, jargon and local dialect.

According to the seminar participants the judges’ load should in no way be reflected in the quality of court decisions.

"The most important task that a judge must master is the preparation of qualitative court decisions that reflect the principles of fair trial: impartiality, respect for adversariality, speed, correctness with respect to the parties and much more. These values underlie the professional identity and ethics of the judge, "G. Seydakhmetova emphasized.

Judges of local courts also demonstrated slides on the methodology of making decisions and their main criteria as an indicator of quality.

The training seminar continued in a format of discussion during which the problematic issues were discussed and an exchange of views took place.

In the end the seminar participants received information leaflets on the topic under discussion.
