Atyrau Regional Court held a seminar on the application of the environmental legislation

The chairman of the Judicial Division for Civil Cases of the Atyrau Regional Court Manat Komirshinov conducted a seminar on the topic: "Judicial practice in the application of the environmental legislation. The topical issues of application of the norms of the Civil Procedural Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

The seminar was attended by judges, representatives of the Prosecutor's Office, the Bar Association, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”, the companies of  Tengizchevroil LLP, Embamunaigas JSC and Maten Petroleum JSC.

Speaking about the main factors of environment pollution the judge of the Specialized Inter-district Economic Court Nurbol Abdolov named Karaganda, EKR, Pavlodar, Kostanai and Atyrau the most polluted cities of the republic. In order to determine the real amount of damage to the environment, according to the speaker, it is necessary to follow not only the methodology for determining damage, but also to involve expert organizations in the calculations.

The judge of the Atyrau specialized administrative court of Zhanat Khabarov spoke on the issues arising in the consideration of administrative cases regarding the protection of the environment and the use of natural resources. The Judge of the Regional Court Zhuldyz Madyarova in her speech highlighted some aspects related to advocacy and legal assistance, the role of a lawyer in the civil process, the introduction of the "Pro bono" practice, the provision of free legal assistance to socially vulnerable sections of the population and the participation of the prosecutor in civil proceedings.

Summarizing the work, M. Komirshinov instructed to develop recommendations taking into account the received opinions and suggestions of the participants of the meeting and also expressed gratitude to the people who took part in the seminar.
