An evening of memory of biys and the representatives of intelligentsia of Alash Horde was held in Oskemen

The evening was held by Anna Zhumagulova, the chairperson of the specialized juvenile court No. 1 of the East Kazakhstan Region.

The event was held with the support of the deputy akim of the region Asem Nusupova, the head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation Azamat Mukhamedchinov as well as the director of the Regional Drama Theater Uyabai Dinmukhamed with the judges of the regional court, the teaching staff of the universities, local ethnographers, researchers, writers, poets and library heads.

Opening the work, A. Zhumagulova noted: "If we declare culture as a strategic spiritual resource for development, many problems in economics, technology and even interpersonal relations will be resolved." In her opinion, the transition of the state language to the Latin alphabet will increase the interest of its studying by foreigners, since it will be easier for them to understand the study of the Kazakh language.

Representatives of the scientific and creative intelligentsia Gulnur Tortenova, Zhanylgul Manzhibayeva, Laura Kadyrova, Kabysh Baltekenov, Gulzhan Kashaku and others spoke at the evening. The speakers noted the importance of spiritual transformations in the country which ultimately should change our society where national culture, traditions and customs are placed at the center of the value hierarchy with an emphasis on their modernization taking into account the world's achievements in civilization.

The participants of the evening got acquainted with the exposition of the photo-documentary exhibitions "Alash - the beginning of the road" and "Alash qozgalysyna - 100 zhyl" (100 years to Alash movement). The actors of the Regional Drama Theater plunged the guests into the early 20th century when the intelligentsia of Alash Horde fought for the independence of the state acting the play "Alash Azamattary". The pupils of the regional specialized lyceum for gifted children played the national instruments.
